This 5-day leadership development training programme is uniquely designed to help all working with aspiring leaders to get ready for their challenges & responsibilities by developing their qual- ities of good leadership, essential for their communities & their organisational success.

Our training encompasses a wide range of engaging and practical tools including: Role-playing, Assessments techniques, Sens of Fit Scenarios, Parables, Inspirations, Case Studies, Empower- ment, Team Building, Evaluation and Feedback methodologies.

The participating educators and mentors will learn how to help their students to develop their unique leadership style, fulfil their potential, achieve maximum impact, plan strategically, set smart goals and an introduction to coaching and mentoring.

Providing practical, results-oriented and engaging capacity building training in leadership, we aim to improve the impact, representation and sustainability of initiatives, organisation or a project led by social activists, community groups’ leaders and members of Ethnic and other Minorities.


Day 1: Leadership styles and leadership development methods

  • Leadership roles (strategist, change agent, coach, manager, communicator, mentor)
  • Leadership vs. Management
  • Coaching and Mentoring – practical exercises

Day 2:For Impact vs. Not-for-Profit

  • Empowerment and Effective Delegation
  • Team Building


Day 3: How to encourage the development of the long-term vision for a project, organisation or business

  • Planning and executing. Strategic planning. SMART Goals and Growth Metrics – what gets measured, gets done

    ACTIVITY: Meeting of the local Community, Team Building, Networking, Cultural and Outdoor Activities.


Day 4: Budgeting and sustainability – the Financial Health of projects or organisations.

  • Convincing pitching – pitching and presentation skills
  • Evaluation and Feedback methodologies
  • Dealing with and accepting failures and mistakes

Day 5: 
ACTIVITY – Local excursions – ancient Irish sites – Gendalough, Visitors Centre and walk in the Wicklow National Park


    • Better understanding of the specific tools and methods helping aspiring leaders to develop their style that creates trust, sets clear vision & guides their teams toward greater performance & sustainability.
    • Gaining insights into the key leadership skills & techniques needed to create a winning strategy.

Designed specifically for all who work with Community Groups, Social Activists, Migrant and Minority Groups, Social Workers, Leadership Trainers, Mentors, Group Supervisors.


Ian Oliver – Senior manager and entrepreneur and social entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the Creative and Technology Sectors; working with Local Government, Local Enterprise Offices, Universities, Businesses and Community Groups throughout Ireland. Keynote speaker at European conferences including University-Business Forum.

Currently Ian is working on advising and designing sustainable projects that utilise culture and creativity as the main driver to effect sustainable economic and social change. He also teaches and mentors artistic and creative entrepreneurship training to adult learners and under- graduate students.

Monika Sapielak – Entrepreneur and Innovator with 25 years of work experience as CEO, Man- ager, Mentor, Educator and Cultural Leader. Regular guest speaker and lecturer at conferences, in higher education institutions and for the media in Europe and in Ireland that include Univer- sity Business Forum in San Sebastian; Creative Business Cup in Copenhagen, University of Pecs, Hungary, Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and Dublin Institute of Technology.

Co-founder and CEO of Centre for Creative Practices focused on integrating, promoting and mentoring migrant, experimental and emerging artists. Curator of its yearly flagship event called New Voices of Ireland Series. Co-Founder of the Creative Entrepreneurs Academy that provides tailored entrepreneurial training and coaching to freelancers and SMEs from the Cre- ative and Cultural Sectors. Founder & CEO of ArtConnected – a SaaS that matches European Creative Opportunities with Talent.
