Creative Problem Solving
looks at how you can use proven and new methods for approaching a problem or a challenge in an imaginative and innovative way. with groups and individuals in a unique environment producing unique results. Using a mixture of Ideation, Creative Thinking and Co-Collaboration techniques throughout the creative problem solving process.

 What Is an Ideation?
Ideation is the creative process of generating, developing and communicating new ideas, we ask you to push yourself to think differently.

What is Creative Thinking?
Thinking about thinking in new, different ways to get to an end result in a set period of time. It is “thinking outside the box.” Using convergent and divergent lateral thinking giving participants the ability to perceive patterns that are not obvious.

What is Co-Creation?
Co-creation enables individuals to work together to achieve a defined and mutually valued outcome. It exists in two forms:

  • Synchronous, where everyone interacts in real time. Examples include in-person or online meetings, instant messaging, or any venue where communication is in real-time.
  • Asynchronous, where the interaction may be time-shifted. Examples include file sharing, crowd sourcing, shared workspaces, or adding content to an information site, such as a wiki.

Most co-creation objectives can be classified into one of three categories:

  • Generation– in these cases, the company’s objective is to solicit ideas, suggestions or designs from customers and other stakeholders, through contests or open-ended appeals, for subsequent use in the design and development of products and services.
  • Refinement– here, collaborators work with company representatives to refine one or more features of a target product or service, to help improve its physical performance, leading to a better customer experience.
  • Creation– collaborators and the company’s professionals work together to develop a prototype of an entirely new product or service. In almost all cases the prototype needs additional refinement and improvement before it is ready for commercialisation.

So be creative, think outside of the box, but also think outside of the environment – be different!

who are we writing for, is it an audience or a machine?

We seem to have lost the art of writing, certainly the art of writing for humans to read.  As Seth Godin writes today on his blog post ‘More and more, we create our work to be read by a machine’ and he’s right, we have lost that power to inform in a language that we can understand. We either write for 140 characters, 550 characters or something that can be read by a spider.

Start by recognising that your true job is to create a customer (not your solution).
Now a customer is someone / somebody / something that gives you an exchange for the item you have produced so not just money but could be funding / barter – as long as it has a value that YOU consider the item is worth…. but unless someone else other than you think’s that what you do is important then you don’t have a viable product…

I know we seem to be putting out a number of ideas and thoughts over the last week or so but what we are trying to do is to get you into a new way of thinking about your creative output. We are not trying to change the output but to make you aware that you need to think about why you are doing something what you are doing in each case, how that fits in with your why and how you (the action plan) are you going to get to the end of that project – to the what) Because we have seen far too many times people (as people have ideas not organisations) have a great idea or start on a great project but completely forget about the solution (the why and the what), they get so me consumed by the process, the journey that they never make it to the end of the project, therefore they never satisfy their what or their why and by default they don’t satisfy themselves or the people they are doing it for… . why do something if it doesn’t have an impact?
